My girlfriend and I have been a few times on Friday evenings since moving to the neighborhood for drinks and light bites: even on Friday evenings, the place is buzzing but never too packed. The beer list is solid, with the house brew (a red ale) recommended, and the pretzels (served with a slightly spicy mustard and a creamy beer cheese sauce) are a perfect side ”
“ This was a beautiful hidden gem during a holiday trip to NYC. The food was delicious! My party all enjoyed their food and shared dishes. The chicken sandwich was flavorful and fresh and the sweet potatoes fries were a great pairing. I felt like a kid in play-land being fascinated by the beautiful ambiance. The holiday decorations were a beautiful touch but the BOOKS! It's like a beautiful library with real hidden gems throughout. This place is a book lovers dream! Service was great and attentive too. ”

Good happy hour specials - typical cheaper beers, wines, etc. Food was quite good as well - Would definitely recommend the Mushroom flatbread. service was great - The bartender was friendly, attentive, and gave us space. definitely will be returning! ”
“ Visited Crompton Ale House for lunch and dinner time. I will say the lunch experience was a lot better due to the service. There weren't many tables so the waiters were more attentive but I can see that they were really busy and trying their best when we went for dinner. It is a very spacious place so there's lots of seating options from high and low tables to the bar seating. It's very casual and the decor fits the trendy rustic theme. I will say I am obsessed with their Barbie Cosmo which is made with watermelon. It was so good that we ended up ordering 2 rounds each time we went. Note they do have a happy hour from 4-7pm and that drink is included! We all enjoyed the food we ordered. I had the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread both times and my friends had the Reuben Sandwich, Margherita Flatbread, and 26th Street Burger. During our dinner visit we tried the Bar Pretzel as an appetizer but it wasn't the best. It didn't have much flavor and it seemed to be overcooked so it was too hard. Overall I really like this spot and they seem to be consistent! Definitely going to be a regular since it's near my job. ”
